Advantages: good for overclocking, can handle up to 2.0 gig palamino proccessor, 266 mhz ddr ram capable{pc2100}

Disadvantages: poor support, did not detect correct cpu speed on startup , needs better fan than shiped with it

I have 3 computers at home all with asus a7a266 motherboards with 1.4 gig proccessors fans in mid tower cases.
When I turned the computer on the cpu was detected as a 1000 MHZ.I had to go to cmos and set the multiplier to 10.5 to get it to read that it was a 1.4 gig cpu.The next time I turned it on it loaded with the correct cpu speed.
The next problem encounterd was the ram would not work with two ram cards plugged in.On the asus site I found a tec bulletin that list ram that has been tested in this board.
When left running for extended periods of time the power light would flash indicating a problem.The cpu was overheating so I replaced the cpu fan with a global win cak68 fan. It's a noisy fan but cools the cpu very well. I also added two fans to the front of the case and two fans to the back of the case to move air in the front and out the back of the case.

WOULD NOT recommend this board for a beginner to setting up motherboards..
overall i'm happy with the board in spite of the problems encounterd in setup.

Would I bye another one prbably not..
