This motherboard (the primary circuit board of a personal computer, containing the circuitry for the central processing unit, keyboard, mouse and monitor, together with slots for other devices... if you weren't aware) is for those looking to build a low-cost/mid range PC with an onboard GPU. I bought it for a client who wanted a custom build, but had a v. limited budget so bought over from the US for £60 (about $90), packaging was your standard Asus box and everything seemed ok.
Installation into the machine was quick, and there were no major issues, one of the sata ports was a bit funny but nothing too shifty.
Can quite easily handle 4gb of ram, and if you're not looking for anything too fancy this motherboard will suit you fine.
A word of caution, the onboard graphics card (ATI 4200HD) runs VERY hot, I've had to install a custom heat extractor into the case to deal with the temperature - there are complaints online of it running at 128c although i've got it down to a 'reasonable' 90c so make sure you invest into a heatsink / extractor solution if this is your mobo of choice.
If you can find it at about £50-60 this motherboard is an absolute bargain, anything more and you should look into more premium products.
This motherboard provides convenient connectivity to external home theater audio systems via coaxial and optical S/PDIF-out jacks. It allows you to transfer digital audio without converting to analog format and keeps the best signal quality.
This motherboard supports the PCIe 2.0 devices for double speed and bandwidth which enhances system performance.
