Advantages: Readily available Bios updates, Cheap

Disadvantages: Only Ultra DMA 33, Burnt out.

I have owned the Gigabyte BX2000 for a year now running a celeron 400 processor. I have had my problems, but I'm can't blame the motherboard. It has served me well. I recently overclocked my celeron to 450 which is very stable, I tried 500 but it went a bit crazy. The manufacturers are no good at replying to e-mail but they do keep the bios's up to date which is good. Overall I would recommend this board, but why not go for the newer BX2000+ as it has ultra DMA 66 which I see as the only downer for this board.

**** UPDATE 23 Sept 2001 ****

Motherboard BLOWN!!!! Two capacitors melted and a voltage regulator burnt out.

While running a P3 800 at 133, normal speed and having 655Mb ram at 133Mhz

The ram started to count funny, graphics on screen had wiggly words and it kept crashing. Unknown how long it has been like this but it is in the BIN!!!! The faulty items were next to the AGP slot. Interested alot of people as the board was not overclocked at the time.

Never mind ehh giving ABIT KG7-RAID a chance soon.hehehe
