Advantages: None

Disadvantages: Deception

I have been involved in the computer assembly and retail business for 13 years and I cannot think of a Far East company worthy of more criticism than Protac International who are responsible for the PC Chips product.
You have to get things into perspective when dealing with companies like this.
This is a company who supplied Motherboards with FAKE chips mounted on their motherboards back in 1995. They supplied tens of thousands 486 Motherboards to the UK computer market with chips they called 'write-back cache'. The term was ambiguous at the time but it was expressed in the terms of a chip that supported the CPU operation and was understood by the industry as a chip that supported CPU microcode-read/write functions.
I had an engineer who stripped a sample of their motherboard and who de-soldered one of these 'write-back cache' chips - which I refer to as 'chips'. On inspection it transpired that these chips were made of solid plastic and served no function whatsoever. It also transpired that the circuitry connected to these surface-mounted chips were in a loop isolated from the motherboard main circuitry.
A deception of this magnitude went unnoticed except for some scathing comments in the predictably anaemic computer journals at the time.
But I remember this very clearly, and still have the evidence stored carefully in a box. It caused my company huge embarrassment and I had to refund people their money as a result of the deception.
This company is clearly not to be trusted.

I'm not entirely sure this is in the right place.. did they make the chipset you've described?
Lets see if we can get it moved.
