 ... so many things!. At one point, i decided that overclocking was a must, and the system sailed through to 950MHz without batting an eyelid. In the bios is an option to clock the system bus in 1MHz increments !, so in the end, i've managed to get my 650 up to 970! (im still trying to get over a gig). On the downside though, the motherboard features on board sound. The chip itself is okay, it's basically a Soundblaster Pro derivative, with AC97 sound controls, which was adequate. Having just sold my old P2-266 (sob), I have been saving hard for a new system. I recently then bought a Duron 650 system, based on the SL75-KV-2X motherboard, which retailed for 94.62 GBP. Installation was a piece of cake. The board neatly slotted in the ATX case (300W), and installing the cpu was a doddle. A coolermaster heatsink and fan is what i put on top (cert. to 1.7Gig!), power connected, i booted up. Got into the bios, checked the voltage etc, and away i went. I decided to build myself a new computer, and as the AMD Duron offered the best power to price ratio I needed a Socket A board. Endless browsing of online shops and hardware sites didn't give me many clues except that the best boards were all over £110. Then while I was browsing the website of CCL Computers (looking at the price of memory) I found the non-plus version of this board. It has the Via KT133 Socket A Chipset, which incorporates AGP 4x, UDMA 66, support for PC133 memory, optional 4 usb ports. This is the chipset that all Socket A boards are based on at present.
