Now, they are asking for another £500!!!! on top of the original premium to insure us. Searches on the internet have proved fruitless as all insurance companies have put their prices up during this time and it means 1st quote are in fact still the cheapes even at a massive £500 extra. we took out motor insurance with this company in October this year. 7 weeks later we received a letter from them which had taken 8 days to arrive saying 'they had cancelled the policy' this had been done 7 days earlier and we were driving around with out insurance during this, unaware that we were doing so. Is your broker 1st Quote Insurance? If so please check whether they have added 'legal protection' to your household policy - renewal notices will contain 1 sentence advising you that an extra £1 a month will be taken to cover this. If so, have you EVER been sent a policy for this so called legal protection? Their renewal notice advising of the so called cover will state that it is to be sent in a separate post. I have used 1st Quote as a broker for my contents insurance (Folgate) since 2003. In 2005 1st Quote added legal protection at an additional £1 a month but their letter advised that the policy would be sent in a separate post. It never was. Again in 2006 ...

Now there's a funny thing to call your insurance broking company. What are always told never to accept - your First Quote. Still, we did accept their quote for motor insurance. Myself and my soon-to-be wife are 24 and 23,have one-years no claims, a P-reg escort, live in Perivale in London and have no off-street parking. To the motor insurance trade we may as well just be leaving the keys sellotaped to the bonnet, judging by the premiums we've been quoted. Has anyone ever found a good and cheap London Motor insurance company? Now sadly, to First Quote, the old addage applies: GOOD - CHEAP - FAST: PICK ANY TWO. Funnily enough, this seems to apply ...
