Back in may I passed my motorbike licence and bought a motorbike and got insurance through 1st Quote. Now, I have got a bit of a history driving. I was convicted of drink driving and was banned for 9 months (never done it since, and never will). A previous company (cannot remember the name) quoted £2500 pounds after originally quoting £750 fully comprehensive. So I forgot them. I phoned round a few companies and 1st quote came up with the best one at £590 third party which was a lot better than £2500.

1st point: It took about 4 weeks for the insurance certificate to come through.

2nd point: recently someone reversed into my motorbike and knocked it over. I first approached 1st quote to report the incident who told me to phone Motorbike insurance policies. I did this and gave all the details to them and they informed me that they were refering the case to Crusader, a third part company that would contact me and then pass the details on to Drive Assist, yet another company. 1 week after the incident I had not got anywhere and drive assist told me that they could not help me as I had a drink driving offence.

In the end I ended up contacting the 3rd party's insurance company and sorting it out by myself. Is this the price you pay for having 3rd party insurance?
