Elephant.co.uk ... complexity of the 2 suspension systems and handling capabilities this produced, insurance premiums are very expensive and elephant told me it was in group 27 to insure because they are so costly to repair, it is interesting that this is taken in to account for the premium but not the payout. It was a Citroen xantia activa (look it up on the net if you're interested) complete with all the options, full service and previously owned by Citroen specialists workshop manager. I spent 6 months finding this car. The day before the accident I had spent £700 on it to make it just right, this was not for service items but small imperfections, 2 weeks previous I had spent £300 on ... Direct Line ... which encouraged me to switch house buildings and contents and vehicle breakdown cover to them as well as motor insurance. However, as their premiums started to rise well above the rate of inflation each year, I tried looking elsewhere and found DL were no longer a good deal. I then found that DL put my policies onto Automatic Renewal so they could just take the money before I had decided whether to renew with them. I pointed out that they had not asked me and they said it was up to me to phone them to cancel the Automatic renewal. It turns out that I have to do this every year for each policy. Sod that!! Tesco Car Insurance ... is fine until you make a claim, nice and cheap, but when your premiun goes from £300. to £600. becausse someone hits you and wont admit fault, even though they admitted fault at the time of the accident, gave me a dud phone number and told me to get a quote and would said he pay cash. Then he denies it when the insurance get involved! This is the second claim with tesco we have cancelled, they sit on their backsides and do nothing!
