I initially got a quote that was £7 cheaper for fully comp insurance than 3rd party fire and theft. This seemed great. However, upon getting my details through they got them wrong. By the time that they corrected them I had not been able to tax my car for a week thus meaning that I could not drive for a week. On top of this the first request that they 'sent' was never received, then the next one was in a quite rude tone. While awaiting the details I requested from my past car insurance I received a very impolite notice. Upon sorting this out it transpired that I had had a break to return to University and had 2 years and 2 months so my insurance no claims were not valid. At no time when I cought the insurance did they tell me that this would be the case, or I would never have considered them. To correct this required many phone calls and the best that they could do was to charge me another £200 for a different policy.

All in all not impressed and I returned to Direct Line and saved £200. There was a charge for cancelling the policy so all in all I was charged £100 for having made the mistake of ever getting involved.

I have had excellent service from the breakdown side of the business so it is with great dissapointment I say never again will I use their services

Summary: I had a pretty raw deal.
