I was with the AA a year as they beat other quotes and unfortunately i now know why.....when renewal comes up they double last years quote, (with my 8 years no claims and not even using any part of my policy), they renew without permission and charge you if you want to leave them well within the cooling off period! and the price for leaving? well it changed every time i called, from £29 to £34 to £56 to £29 i think they make it up as they go along but hey their loss as i wont touch them again no matter how tempting their quote may seem! and am changing my breakdown cover from them their loss

I chose the AA after being a member for many years, they gave me a cheap quote with discount for being a member however after an accident this year which was not my fault, they wrote off a completely good car and offered a paltry sum along with wanting me to waiver my voluntary excess. It has been an absolute nightmare from start to, ...  Read the complete review

AA offer a great deal (1134 words)

I am a fan of finding the best deal when it comes to car insurance. I get straight onto the comparison sites around a month before my renewal is due. I hate being bombarded by offers from companies who promise the earth and you get nothing much in return. Ok you may pay cheaper monthly installments, or get a discount when you ...  Read the complete review

I cant ever think of going back to the AA they are possibly the most rubbish insurance brokers and low morale team of people who do not give two hoots about you being actually correct. I cant begin to tell you where they went wrong and they really don't care. Despite failing to take the money out on the correct day and then charging me for the privilege of them not following instructions. Once we had the policy... then the trouble started. Because they screwed up the address we know where the stream of calls and people selling wills and charity donations came from. Their car care may be great but they need to seriously overhaul their attitude. I really really really hope I don't have an accident while I have this policy. I am never ever coming back to them again.

After using Budget for over 10 years with relatively reasonable premium, for a change I have checked around for better quote. AA gave us very good quote from about 500 to 303! We couldn't be happier! After one year, while we were in long holiday AA sent us renewal reminder with 399 premium! We didn't have accident, no change what so ...  Read the complete review

Last Years Premium £387, this year £894:91 !!!. No claims, no changes, NO CHANCE !. On receiving my renewal notice went online for a quote from them which came up at £451. I spoke to an AAIS Agent who was embarrassed at the hike and unable to justify it. He did however then find me another quote which was slightly cheaper due to my AA Staff discount being applied for this year, and also including last years which despite being assured was on last year, wasn't. My experience is quite long winded but in a nutshell they AA have shown themselves to be ripoff merchants and as a retired staff member it saddens me to say that. P.S. Same details to Tesco Insurance = £286 Guess where I'm going :)

I'm incredibly disloyal when it comes to choosing my car insurance provider and will happily change companies every year to get the best price. I chose the AA last year, it wasn't the cheapest on the comparison sites but was the cheapest of all the companies I had actually heard of. I should point out that the AA act as ...  Read the complete review

I took out aa car insurance, but when renewal was up i decided to go elsewhere, problem was i needed proof of my no claims bonus for my new insurer. It took months for me to get the document through from AA, many many calls to them, they kept saying they had sent it out but would do so again, but nothing arrived on my doorstep, my new insurers had no option to threaten me with cancelling my policy! so much stress and anxiety, it all made me ill, it was an absolute nightmare, for such a big company i thought they would be the best, but they turned out to be the worst.
