ADMIRAL MULTICAR INSURANCE - BEWARE!!!!
My husband and I both had our car insurance with Admiral, so when they announced their new multicar policies, we signed up saving a lot of money.
However, my husband has recently had an accident which was not his fault, but as the other driver was uninsured, it has become one battle after another with Admiral who didn't seem to want to pay for the repairs to my husband's car as they knew they wouldn't get their money back.......obviously the fact that we've already paid for it in advance through insurance premiums didn't cross their mind!
Anyway, they wouldn't provide a courtesy car, even though my husband's car wasn't driveable and it was 2 weeks before they gave the go-ahead for the repairs.....and then another 2 weeks before the car was repaired. So my husband was left car-less for a month.
Anyway, my main gripe is that we cancelled the insurance to go elsewhere, only to find out that the no claims bonuses for both myself and my husband are all issued in his name! Which means that no other insurer will accept my proof of no claims!!!! Even though, the majority of these years apply to my insurance before we signed up to multicar, I gave lost all of my no claims bonus!!!
Summary: No amount of money saved will make up for the hassle you will have when you claim or cancel.
