Advantages: Low premiums, good customer service
Disadvantages: High excesses, website a bit unreliable
I have been with Admiral for the past 3 years, having initially had ridiculously large quotes for car insurance from other companies. In that time I have never been less than impressed with their customer service. The main attraction of Admiral is the low premiums on car insurance. I have found that most companies cannot come within about £150 of the price quoted by Admiral, which is incredible really. On the downside, their excesses are higher than the norm, but if you don't make any claims, you can save a lot of money. Although insurance premiums have been going up recently, my insurance for this year increased only slightly, which I am happy with after all the reports in the press of spiralling insurance costs. I have recommended Admiral to a number of my friends, and so far each one has ended up signing up with them. Maybe they should give me a bonus for all the referrals I've put their way... ;-) By the way, in case you're wondering why I haven't given Admiral a 5 star rating, well, for any company that charges so much to provide so little(like any insurance company), I have to be a touch reluctant to give them full marks!

sidneygee - 12.11.00 My daughter (22, just graduated from University, 3 years' driving experience, no NCD, starting work as a trainee accountant got her best offer from Admiral for a 1.4 Corsa. Other daughter (21, just graduated, 9 months licence, starting work as in Biotechnology - best quote from Churchill. Son, 19, student, licence 2 years, for 1.2 Nova, 3rd party only: both Admiral and Churchill wanted £1,000 +.. a company called "17-40" insured him for under £500, but were expensive for the two girls looking for fully comprehensive. Shows that shopping around is essential. |
