I have been with Admiral insurance for 4 years and I have been very impressed with the service I have received over the years.

I initially chose them as they were over 25% cheaper than the next best quote for my MX5. I did get a lot of quotes and the difference was amazing. I saved over a £100 pounds that first year. Since then the premium has stayed the same until last year when there was a hike of around £110 pounds. I thought this was excessive and so searched for a better deal again. However after numerous searches the best equivalent quotes were about £30 pounds cheaper. So I went back to Admiral and said that I was happy with the service but the premium was too high. They came back to me with a reduction of £20 which left it only £10 more than the best. That was sufficient as the hassle of changing wasn't worth £10. So if you get a high renewal then always check if they will do a deal, they often do.

As for the service I have only had to use them once when the car roof was slashed. The claim was sorted out over the phone and a new roof was installed within 5 working days. They even picked up the car early and returned it to me late on the same day. So I had no need to interrupt my working day. The claim went through no problem, and the repair was excellent, considerably better than prior to the incident.

When we bought my partner a car 2 years ago they were also very good. She had no no-claims-bonus but they honoured my full no-claims-bonus on her premium thus saving us huge a amount.

As far as drawbacks go I would say the constant stream of junk mail trying to sell me various other products is the only one. These just go straight into the bin.

Overall an excellent service I highly recommend.
