Advantages: No problems when making a claim

Disadvantages: Watch out for the small print and when cancelling policy

After being with Budget for a year, i had a rediculous renewal prive which was about 5 times the cost. I changed insurance providers. However, as I was not aware of the need to tell them that i had cancelled. They continued to take monthly direct debits from my account. Fortunately i noticed in the first month and cancelled immediately. But it was too late and £124 had already been debited. What annoyed me further was the inclusion of payment protection and legal cover on top which I had not agreed to previously. After a quick call they have now refunded part of my payment but still have a cancelation fee of £20. After returning all the docs and a copy of my new cert, I get another letter saying they havent received it! SURPRISE SURPRISE! So i nowhave to fil lout another form and copy my sert again and send it to them. No doubt this will be 'lost' as well so they can keep my cancellation fee!
I would advise anyone who deals with Budget to beware of the smal print. Having said that, when i made a claim during the policy, I had no problems at all!
