Disadvantages: You only get what you pay for
I was surprised to see positive comments about Churchill from other Dooyoo members as I have had nothing but trouble with them. I switched to them this year because they were cheaper than my other quotes. They needed proof of my no-claims dicount which is standard but when I sent them my renewal notice as requested, they sent me a letter saying that what I sent them was insufficient and they had taken an additional £235 off my credit card which would only be refunded when they had proof of my no claims discount. i phoned to complain and they said they would phone my old insurers. I then got another letter 10 days later saying they could not contact my old insurers and I would have to ring them....still no refund. I phoned and said i wanted to issue a formal complaint and was told to write to the Admin team. How reassuring?! I wrote to the Chief Executive and got the money refunded (+£15) but still no explanation as to why they felt they could put through debits on my credit cards when they wanted. The fight goes on.

- 02/05/01 I agree Churchill are the pits, I had the mis-fortune of haveing to make a claim and they ended up siding with the third party, because the third party was insured with them too. I took them to court but lost because of a legal loop hole. Keep up the good ops. |
