I thought I would give Diamond a go because my sister, who is only 19 (I am also under 25), had had a quote for only £500 for her Peugeot 306 turbo diesel and, although they say they are for women, she was able to put my dad as a named driver - perfect for me and my husband.

I decided to give the website a go as it is more convenient to use as you can use it 24 hours. However, I found that the online immediate quote service was not working, and has not been for some time now. I had to fill the usual forms in and then wait for an email reply with what they had come up with. They said I would get it within 36 hours. However, it is now several weeks and I have still not received my quote. Thankfully I am not desperate as I am only looking to see how much a car I am intending to buy (also a Peugeot 306 turbo diesel) would cost me to insure. I also know that I can phone them up, but this defeats the whole purpose of having and using a website.

Although I know they give competitive quotes for women drivers, I am not impressed with the service I have received so far. However, I will be giving them another try, but this time on the old fashioned phone!
