Direct LineNewest Review: ... you that want the solicitors they choose to do it but other than that they are not much help. Writed letters and even sent emails but my excess money was still taking them so long. It took 3 months and a half for them to sort the matter out altogether. They just kept me waiting and all the promised call backs they said never actually happened! Direct Line since being with them also have ... more |

Direct Line offer all sorts of different insurance with them including car insurance, home insurance and even life insurance. I joined up with them 2 years ago and it was a tough call as Churchill were just as good as them. Direct Line have been poor though when it has come to paying out and also have not been so helpful on the phone either. I had a car accident and my excess money was not paid out until 3 months later. No courtesy car from them was arranged either at all and on the phone they were not helping much with their service. It is a issue just to get through to them and speak about what has happened to your car. They are fast in telling ... Read the complete review

Signed up to direct line car insurance due to better than average cover, including being allowed to drive other cars 3rd party. I couldn't find much information on line but according to their website this cover is standard (see http://www.directline.com/about_us/news_141005.htm ). Unfortunately, as I am under 25, I am excluded from what is supposedly 'standard'. Im a young driver, i started at the age of 17, occasionally driving my father cars "whilst building my own no claims discount". Its now 2 years down the line, and his decided to give me the car for my 19th birthday. In a perfect line of thought, after having 2 years on his policy, and then this year coming on my own policy, i was fully expecting to leave with 3 years no claims.. However, ive im now going to leave with 1 years no claims, and a "documented 2 years good driving certificate". Unless i can find an insurance company that will recognise this, its not worth the paper its written on. Its been a waste of my ... Read the complete review

I insured my car with Direct Line about 6 years ago purely because it was the cheapest offer I had from the few quotes I gathered. As with most companies, everything was fine until the day I had a problem. Someone drove into the back of me and did quite a lot of damage. The guy admitted it was his fault and told his insurance company so. Direct Line sent me loads of paperwork to fill out as well as receipts for the £300 of repairs that I had to pay for. I then heard nothing more. My insurance was up for renewal a few months later and, as my claim was still being dealt with by Direct Line, I didn't feel that I could go elsewhere as I probably wouldn't ever see ... Awful company to deal with. I was trying to get an address from them to send information they required had to speak to 6 yes 6 different people for one address. One even put me through to church hill?? Explain that! Yes they are cheap but trying to resolve a car insurance claim even though they were'nt liable took nearly 1 year! Trying to claim the home insurance £25 admin fee back i sent all the relevant paper wok off guess what. They havent recieved it. How conveniant. Cheap yes customer service absolutely terrible!
