Directline, better quotes through a comparison site (Direct Line)

Direct line is a company that offers a number of different services, such as: car insurance, home insurance, life insurance, travel insurance and even mortgages and savings!

I was looking for car insurance as mine was due to run out, so I went onto Direct Lines website and got a quote for about £978 for me and my partner. I thought this was really expensive, even though I had only been driving 1 year because the year before I paid £758 for third party, fire and theft (different company that also wanted to charge me more).So I went onto a comparison site to see if I could get a better quote.

When I did the comparison site search, I had received a really good quote, only £534 per year, fully comprehensive, for my partner and I.

I really wanted to be with Directline so I phoned them and asked them if they could beat the price (long shot) to my surprise they matched it! We then paid an extra £33 for break down cover- including home start; which I think is a really good price altogether!

As it was only the 2nd time I had taken car insurance out, I was abit worried incase I did something wrong, so I was glad to speak with them in person. This gave me the opportunity to ask questions and to make sure I had given the correct information etc.....

I found the customer service from the member of staff to be very helpful, polite and quite understanding, he explained things to me clearly which helped me alot because I am very dumb when it comes to cars lol!

I would recommend Directline, especially for the car insurance, customer service and value for money but I would get a quote from a comparison site instead of from their site and then ask them to beat it!
