Advantages: very competitive on price

Disadvantages: settled claim without informing me

My first ever car insurance was with this company and as a young driver they offered the best qoute. During my first year I had an accident which I was attributed blame for. You have to accept these thing but it would be nice if you were informed about the claim being settled. I had to call Direct Line to be informed of this, during this time my car had dented bodywork which I either had to pay for myself or get done on an insurance claim. This was 5 years ago however so they probably have improved a great deal. the one great thing Direct Line offer is price, they seem to go out of their way to beat their competitors and they always seem to manange it. It's not unusual for them to try and improve on their original qoutation. With cars gettting more expensive by the year these should be the first people you should call about insurance.
