Advantages: Low cost, good service

I moved my insurance to Direct LIne because of the low price and the little red phone adverts. I id however have little if any loyality to an insurance company at that time. As a result every year when my car insurance came round I rang aroud for a cheaper deal. It is now six years later and I have yet to find a cheaper deal and I think I have rung just about everyone.

This alone however would not get me to write an opinion because anyone can ring round for quotes. I have had two accidents during my time with Direct Line and they have dealt with them efficiently and with attention to detail.

The first one with I was not a fault with led to my car being written off. They were a little slow (a week) getting all the formalities out of the way but at the end they paid over what I was expecting for the car which was a nice surprise.

The second accident (my fault this time) was dealt with swiftly and when the repairer was slow getting my car back to me, they helped resolve the problem so I was back on the road in less than three weeks despite what was extensive damage.

All in all I am happy with the cost and service and have stopped ringing around every year which saves on the phone bill.
