I have been with Direct Line for many years and had no problems, but then again I hadn't had an accident. I had a non fault accident last September, all was going well until (because of their attitude) I chose not to use the recommended repairer, I told Direct Line about this and they were fine about me using another garage. Well what a mistake ...

I have been on my partners car insurance for years, but due to this I never gained any no claims bonus as I was a named driver, so after having a bad accident last May I got my own car and had a look around to see which car insurance would suit me. Direct Line was one of the cheapest and as it is advertised on television and the ...

Cheesed off with being put onto Automatic Renewal even though I have phoned them to stop it. I had been a Direct Line customer for many years and at first they were competively priced which encouraged me to switch house buildings and contents and vehicle breakdown cover to them as well as motor insurance. However, as their premiums started to rise ...

I booked travel insurance with direct line for the first time before going on holiday to the U.S. I lost my brand new digital camera while there and made a claim on returning to the UK. The service i received from Direct Line was efficient, sufficient and friendly and am very happy with my replacement camera which took about a week to process a claim for.

I have nearly everything insured with Direct Line, both our cars, our house and our life insurance. We also have Direct Line breakdown cover and home protection (if your boiler breaks down etc). They also provide a number of other products such as holiday insurance, pet insurance, loans and mortgages. We have been with Direct Line Car ...

I had an accident 5 1/2 months ago. It was not my fault and the other party admitted all responsibilty. I am fully comp with 5 years no claims. Costs me about £500 a year. I had to pay upfront for a car hire, because my car was not road-worthy, and a £250 excess. They punted off the collection of this money to a ...

My car was hit by a careless driver whilst parked outside my house. Direct Line had the car towed away very quickly to the garage of their choice, who later told me that the repairs would be £2300, so the car was a write off. Direct Line then sent out their engineer, who said the car was worth ... £2300! Quite a coincidence ... have pointed out to ...

Note: I am insured by Privilige, but they are underwritten by Direct Line (DL). During the high winds ~ 18th January, 2007, a roof tile came loose and landed conveniently on the tailgate of my Toyota Avensis, which was parked on the drive at the time. I informed DL and decided to take the car to my local Toyota garage for an estimate ...

I probably drive 40k miles a year so it inevitable that at some stage I would get a chipped windscreen. You'd think this would happen on the motorway but mine didn't. I'd cleared the motorway and was half a mile from home. Some guy was in his garden mowing his grass and must have hit a stone in the grass because it flew out of the mower and ...

OK, let me tell you my tale. Having read the reviews here I can only assume that the high raters have not gone through the Directline (hereafter referred to as DL, because if I have cause to write it out fully too many times I’ll probably punch a hole clean through the monitor) process. That those people are not yet aware of the utter ...

Both mine and my husband's cars were stolen Christmas Eve. Direct Line were closed over the Christmas period so I had to wait until December 27th to report it to them. The advisor took minimal info from me and said someone would call me back in 48 hours. I asked about a hire car and was told, "sorry, we removed that as standard from our ...

I had a road accident back in the end of September, but I am still waiting fro Direct Line to sort out the paperwork so that my car can be fixed. I have to say Direct Line is CRAP and UNRELIABLE. I am very annoyed and disappointed with the way that Direct Line deals with my claim. I watched a Direct Line advert on telly one day, it says, 'When it ...

I had a road accident at the end of September, since then I am still waiting for Direct Line to sort out the paperwork so my car can be fixed, it is just unbelieveable bad! I remember the current Direct Line advert on telly, it says. 'When it's a good deal not a good deal', and 'When you found a cheap car insurance and they always let you down'. ...

I am listening to my girlfriends latest phone conversation with Direct Line insurance. She is trying to retrieve proof of no claims for her insurance with another company. Yes they have received the cheque they demanded to allow her to buy back the no claims lost when her wing mirror was clipped. They apologised for asking her to send the ...

Background --------------- I have been insured with Direct Line for something like 14 years now, having defected to them when I worked for a very large well known broker, as even with staff discount, Direct Line’s quote was cheaper! We currently have two cars, home insurance and life insurance with direct line, and I will ensure they ...

Having read some of the comments on here about dissatisfaction with Direct Line, I have come to the conclusion that perhaps staff in different areas of the country offer a better or worse service than others. Personally I cannot praise the efficiency of Direct Line enough. When my two children were old enough to drive this company gave ...

someone broke into my car to steal the radio 2 months ago and my car hasn't been fixed yet. Directline sent me to a very dodgy garage where all the staff look like they've escaped prison. they are slow, rude and they have their lunches in my car and took all the petrol off it. Beware also, DirectLine is closed on bank holidays. My car as ...

It's that time of year again, car insurance due, MOT next month. So instead of merely staying with my current company I decided to have a butchers on the net to see if I could save myself a few quid. Finding quotes on the net is as easy as pie, just type car insurance into Google and they are virtually all there for the clicking. ...

This is my personal experience of Direct Line Motor Insurance and judging by some other reviews already written on dooyoo, looks like I'm not alone with my experience. Insuring your car can be an expensive and time-consuming business and making sure you have the right policy for “your” needs is essential. Shopping around can indeed save you ...

My experience of direct line on the whole, they are very cheap. The problem with them is that when you need them (in the event of a claim) they let you down badly. In my opinion they cut costs on claims to produce cheap premiums. Be very aware of what you are signing up to and research everything! Especially the courtesy car rules and ...
