Description: Motor insurance.

I don't know how they did it but I bought it before they found out what they don't. (An insurance company once misquoted me for my first car - they charged me £500 too little and tried to make me pay when they discovered the mistake) This year as usual ... more

Premium Review Cheapest car insurance quote by far - for some (547 words)

I am one of those people who insist on checking 50 different companies for my car insurance every year despite most brokers claiming they can do all that for me. It pays off though. Years ago when a phone call or a personal trip to your broker was the only way it was painful - now the internet makes it super easy even if it is still time consuming. So this year like every year previous I did my usual check of all the online companies and for the second year running egg were unbeatable. The first year I choose to insure with them the quote was just under £500 despite all other brokers and direct insurers charging me at least £950! I didn't believe it and ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Egg Insure - Motor: Cracking Quotes (582 words)

Having experienced Insurance Express (see other op!) this year we decided that nothing on earth would make us go back with them, even if it meant having a higher quote off someone else! (They were that bad folks)... Started shopping around a month before the insurance was due which was 9th June. We had never bought insurance on-line before. About the same time all the insurance companies (or so it seemed) suddenly realised that Dave's insurance was about to expire and I was bombarded with flyers offering discounted this, that and the other - free no claims stuff - Oh my, gone all faint thinking about it!!! They do go on a bit! Time was getting short ...  Read the complete review

They Guarantee to beat your renewal quote – and they match that guarantee! Great quotes good and quick! My colleague was sitting here lunchtime ringing insurance companies to renew his car insurance. I asked him if he'd tried Egg and he said, do they do insurance? I thought this was a strange question considering he logs onto their site at least once each day to look at his credit card bill – sucker! Off we went to the Egg site and started filling out the form for a "quick quote". Basically you answer six questions and they give you a rough quote. They keep the number of questions down this low by checking your registration number ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Egg Insure - Motor: Egg Insure - Beware ......... (167 words)

Egg Insure (an internet arm of Prudential) should be used with caution. A quick quote can be supplied after answering only 6 questions and in my case was very competitative. The price quoted however was not what I was charged on my credit card - and enquires of Egg revealed that this was because their premiums do not include Legal protection cover or protected no-claims. Providing a basic quote does not allow for a like-with-like comparison (other online retailers do include this or at least make it clear that it isn't included) and after the addition of such premiums actually made them considerably more expensive than their nearest rival (for me the AA). Egg ...  Read the complete review
