Egg Insure (an internet arm of Prudential) should be used with caution. A quick quote can be supplied after answering only 6 questions and in my case was very competitative. The price quoted however was not what I was charged on my credit card - and enquires of Egg revealed that this was because their premiums do not include Legal protection cover or protected no-claims. Providing a basic quote does not allow for a like-with-like comparison (other online retailers do include this or at least make it clear that it isn't included) and after the addition of such premiums actually made them considerably more expensive than their nearest rival (for me the AA). Egg Customer Services offer nothing of the kind and I cancelled my policy with them. It took 8 weeks to secure a refund; 10+ phone calls and the involvement of my credit card company who had processed the transaction. I have written to Egg Insure to complain - but 6 weeks later I am still waiting for a reply.

A very important lesson to us all; to beware of the small print or in MarkNCL's
case where there was no small print over phone. The opinion seemed some-what
angry towards the company; but in all fairness to MarkNCL, the company
shouldn't have tried to be so devious in selling their insurance.
