DO NOT USE ELEPHANT - LISTEN TO THE MAJORITY OF REAL REVIEWERS
The good reviews on this website, I can only assume have been written by elehant staff expecting big bonuses this year because in my experience Elephant have been AWFUL & INCOMPETANT
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Dont care about customers, Rubbish Legal Cover, Rude Staff, No contact made, high premiums - and finally EMPTY PROMISES
I shall be reporting them to the FSA,Motor Insurance Bureau, and Watchdog for their behaviour.

I've used Elephant for a couple of things: Car insurance and travel insurance. They've been pretty good to me on both occasions. With travel insurance I've found them to be pretty cheap and easy to arrange. I did it at short notice last time and as well as posting the documents out to me which I wouldn't have been able to get in time ... Read the complete review

The problems we had with Elephant have been numerous - my advice is do not insure with them, they may be cheap but if you have a claim you will regret it. I would go so far as to guess that the positive reviews on this site are not "genuine". I have a friend who has also had a nightmare with them. My accident was witnessed by two ... I have been driving for 3 years now but because of my age 24, my gender (Male) and my circumstances of not being rich (living in a not so good area), i find it very hard to find decent priced insurance. Ok, so i dont help myself wth having a 2 litre car. I unfortunately had an accident that was my fault within 3 months of passing my ... Read the complete review

Being a young driver (23) I dread the yearly week's worth of scouring the length and breadth of the internet and phonebook to try and find a better deal for my car insurance. I spend hours filling in online forms, listening to Lionel Richie down the phone, and generally getting fed up of people telling me I'm paying too much then failing to offer ... I've used Elephant twice, the first time with no problems, and the second (and current) time with significant difficulty. First off, Elephant's prices are reasonable compared to other insurers on the market. The first time I used them I had no problems, but I think that was largely because I did not have to use them beyond organising ... Read the complete review

I insured my car with Elephant because at the time I needed a new car insurance company, and they came back with the best quote. I was quite happy with them and I only changed to another company so that I could save some more money. I got the quote on an online search for motor insurance. I put my mobile phone number in and ... Read the complete review

Are quick to take your money, but do not refund your remaining policy if you have an accident, and are refusing to pay more than 40% of my cars market value. Time wasted alone costs thousands dealing with them, only way i can see getting enough money back to buy another car is a small claim throught the courts. Poor service and i will not deal with elephant.co.uk or Admiral group again. Would have been better off without insurance at all in terms of money.

Elephant.co.uk get you in their grasp with a great price. After that the customer service is poor and the renewal price shoots up above many others.
We tried to cancel the auto renew but they were so difficult to contact with long calls on hold we decided to cancel in writing.
Assuming they done there job and cancelled we get a debt collectors letter.
There is far better prices and customer service out there.
We were very lucky we never needed to claim from this company like many others of the bad reviews.

Finally, after what feels like weeks of replacing reviewing with having a real life, I have come to a crashing halt. I'm fed up of the five men who seem to think I'm theirs, chocolate and ice cream have rebelled against me by giving me spots all over and thanks to my Electric bill this month I'm totally out of money to do anything alcohol ... My personal advice to anyone would be DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM ELEPHANT.CO.UK. A drunken man travelling just short of the speed of sound crashed into my car at 2am one Sunday morning around 10 weeks ago, the police attended and the man was taken away in an ambulance. He will be charged with drink driving, no insurance and dangerous driving. I ... Read the complete review

My parked, empty car was reversed into in front of me and several witnesses. I have main and legal cover with Elephant. Fourteen months later I am still waiting for any tangible action from Elephant to get admission of liability and recover my excess and expenses - all they do is wait for the third party, who clearly have no motive to do ... Just had a run in with elephant. For all out there who have had good experiences there are always those that a company just can’t be bothered with. I had a head on collision with another motorist, to anyone viewing both cars they appear to have been both written off. This was the view of elephant originally; this was before they lost my car. I had ... Read the complete review

Went to Elephant after a poor experience with Endsleigh (another review). Got a very good quote for a 10 month policy so I went with it. I was impressed with the fact they were able to find my car on their system, it's an 04 model preregistered in 03 which can cause some probs. So far so good, no claims to make and any small changes ... Read the complete review

I've read some reviews about Elephant and wanted to share my experience with them. I'm 30ish and like driving fast powerful cars and have found Elephant to be good on Insurance. To date I have insured Subaru Impreza WRX, TVR Chimaera, MX5, Prelude VTEC, Porsche Boxster and more recently SLK55AMG. I usually scour the net to get competitive quotes ... Read the complete review

I want to warn people about Elephant.co.uk, because you will get SCREWED when you have to make a Claim!. I have 11 years worth of NCB, I was unlucky, when a driver hit the back of my car and then "failed to stop". As the driver could not be traced, I had to claim on my own insurance. My Policy Excess was £300 ... Read the complete review

Being young and driving a fast sporty car always poses a problem when it comes to insurance. I've come to expect the high prices, but this year, following the purchase of a car imported from Japan, I've faced the most hassle ever getting hold of car insurance... Elephant have decided that my car is not economical to repair. I have doubts about that, but that's just one issue. This is a case of "I should have read the small print", but who does, so this is a warning to you. If your car is "written off", ELEPHANT CANCEL YOUR INSURANCE POLICY. They also demand the full amount ... Read the complete review

I joined elephant.co.uk 3 years ago. The tariff was very reasonable, although it's true that you do need to watch out what extras you're adding on because the cost can escalate if you decide on including all the nice-to-have's. However, the issue of a few quid doesn't really interest me. What I want above all is good, ... Read the complete review

I used Elephant for one year (2002-3) and also made a claim with them. I found that their quote was very competitive and more importantly they handled the claim well. So how do they compare to all the other insurance companies? Usually every year at renewal time I get several quotes as almost always it results in getting a reduction in ... Read the complete review
