Advantages: cheap quote
Disadvantages: terrible service and hidden expenses
I bought my car insurance through Endsleigh last year. I found the quote through an internet price comparison website and I got a really good deal. I saved about £100.
However, the price was good but after taking out the policy, I ished I'd gone with a different company even if it would have cost more.
The first problem I had was when I anted to add my boyfriend to the insurance for a weekend. We were doing a long drive and I didn't want to do the whole thing by myself. I called Endsleigh and they said it ould cost £105! For a weekend! They said it was because he is a carpenter and they favour professionals. I was not happy!
The second problem was when I moved house. I obviously needed to notify them of the change and I expected the price to go up as I had moved somewhere where my car would be parked on the roadside rather than off road. Not only did it cost more but they also charged me a £15 fee for moving!
Most recently, I have had no end of trouble getting proof of my no claims discount for my new insurance company. I have called Endsleigh to request the document and each time I speak to someone helpful who says they have sent it out but I still haven't received it. It's been 1 month and 5 calls! In the meantime, my new insurance can't be validated.
I am not happy with Endsleigh to say the least and will not be using them again.
Summary: don't bother!

- 22/05/09 I've been with Endsleigh since i was at uni and i havent had any problems. i had to pay extra when i moved but you get that with all companies - even the admin fee. i was worried when i had to claim but thankfully that all went ok. |
