Advantages: not too expensive, no problems yet, pay monthly option
Disadvantages: I havn't found any yet
I first wrote this opinion last april when I took out an insurance policy with Endsleigh. Below is my original opinion, and at the end is my update..... I got my renewal notice from my previous insurer a few months back and it had rocketed to £643 from about £460 I couldn't understand why as I had a years no claims bonus and had not made any claims so I started to ring around a few other companies for quotes. I tried many but Endsleigh gave me the best one. I am 19 years old, have only been driving a year, have one years no claims and have an old A reg Vauxhall Nova. Not much you might think but I like it! Anyway Ensleigh gave me a quote of £357, over half price of some of the quotes I have had! It's only third party fire and theft, but I think that considering my age and the fact I havn't been driving long and compared to other companies thats not bad. I gave a deposit by debit card over the phone and my details came through within a few days. I have also chosen to pay in monthly installments as it suits me much better than paying all in one go, although this would have cost me slightly less than £357. So far I have had no problems with anything to do with my insurance policy or this company. The Update.....To say I had no problems was a bit of a fib. Correct I had none when i took out the policy, it wasn;t until my first direct debit with them over a year ago now that I did have a few problems.....It took several months to sort out the direct debit infomration. I had given it to them in writing and thay kept writing to me saying that my bank had refused it, after a word with the bank they had not recieved anything from Endsleigh. Luckily endsleigh have a free phone telephone number as I spent ages on the phone to them to sort the problem. Anyway a few months later it was all sorted out. I changed my car a short while afterwards and any doubts I had about them muc
king something else up were completely gone. I now have another old car - this time a ford fiesta (but on a poor dental nurse wage I can't afford a brand new one!! .....yes bring out the violins) Anyway this was so simple and only cost me £413 a year which I was able to just add the extra to my monthly payments to make the price up. Well last week I recieved my new renewal notice, as you can guess up it went again, this time to £483, not bad for a twenty year old maybe, been driving just over 2 years, but I am all for saving money like the rest of you! I was determined to find a better quote and yes I did, the best I found was around £350. I rang Endsleigh back and yes I am still with them! After I had told them I wanted to cancel my policy with them and told them what quotes I had been given by other companies, they lowered mine to £360. I asked how they could possibly do that when they had sent me a renewal over £100 dearer. They didn't really have an answer, but it does make you wonder how many people haven't questionned their renewal and paid it anyway, when I saved over £100 just by telling them I wanted it cheaper! i would recommend Endleigh for cheap car insurance and I think they are especially good for young drivers.
