No doubt, like me, your insurance premium has increased again this year. Well, I think the main reasons for all these rises are...... (1) The creation of all these claim companies which are all over our T.V screen's and newspapers....have you had an accident in the last three years.....etc,etc.... (2) Ordinary everyday people piling on the injuries(whiplash, etc) and damage claims, all of which have to be paid for by someone, namely "you and me!", when really most of the claims made today could be settled like they used to be, down at the local garage. Instead, it ends up costing thousands of pounds per claim. All the middle men take their cut, whilst all the "not even injured"passengers put in their claims for whiplash. When are people going to realize that all these claims have to be paid for?? Until they do we will just have to endure this compensation culture to which we are becoming increasingly exposed to,then dig deep into our pockets to pay for this ever-spiralling expense that is now part and parcel of motoring. Eventually certain groups of drivers will not be able to stand the cost thus rendering them unable to drive. Then maybe people will drive without insurance creating a new set of problems altogether.

- 01/12/00 Yep. my insurance has gone up too.
I rated your opinion as I did, due to the biased way it was written. I think we can all agree with your conclusions, but information rather than vitriolic aspertions are the order of the day. Be glad to re-rate later (if applicable). |
