Advantages: Quick to use

Disadvantages: Useless results, poor design, poor usability

I was very disappointed by Insurancewide. Firstly, the website itself is messy, hard to navigate and cluttered. Not, something that should form one hundred percent of how you judge a site, but disappointing nonetheless to have to waste time looking at something that doesn't look or work as well as it should.

The process itself doesn't take too long, but this is because Insurancewide (for car insurance) doesn't actually get you a quote. All it does is spend 30 seconds waiting, and then presents you with a number of companies it has a partner relationship with, giving a really vague idea of pricing. This range of pricing means that bothering to put in your details has been a complete waste of time.

The truth is that the game has moved on. Of course other comparison sites (confused, gocompare, comparethemarket, beatthatquote) also have commercial relationships. However they also quote prices that are meaningful, and their websites look light years ahead if Insurancewide. Insurancewide is left looking like a relic of the internet passed.
