Advantages: Easy to get a quote, quite competitive
Disadvantages: I haven't figured out how to get a quote for TPFT
I recently took a look at one of the new insurance wesbites after seeing it advertised on tv with that bloke off Top Gear (not Jeremey but the other one) and on the face of it it looks quite impressive. The company have two good things going for them - one is no matter when your insurance is due, you can get an online quote that will be valid for up to 11 months, so you can use the quote when your insurance is up. The other good point is that if you stay with them for five years, you can get back your first years premium in full. To do this you have to sign up for cashback while taking out your policy. The site is easy enough to find your way around, and getting a quote involves answering a couple of questions - ie car make and model, how much no claims you have, etc etc. You are then presented with a quote and it's up to you whether you want to take it further. To be honest, I haven't got any further than getting a quote for one main reason. My quote came in at £587 fully comp on an E reg Escort with 1 years no claims. Not bad considering I'm paying that much now for third party only. The problem is that I haven't yet found a way to opt for third party only or TPFT cover on the site, or to add other drivers onto my quote. I suppose I could do it by phoning them but isn't that defeating the object? I can imagine that this would be a brilliant site if you have loads of no claims bonus and a top of the range, sex on wheels car.
