The time had come again for me to renew my car insuarnce, Has it really been 12mths since I last done the insurance. I decided to get the good old yellow pages out and phone several insurers when I cam across the number for Kwik-Fit Insurance.

I telephoned them using there freephone number 0800 027 2796, After listening to nice music I was told by a voice that all there consultants where busy and If I wanted I could use there call back service, I decided to use this, So I pressed 5 on my telephone and was then asked to leave a number and my name where I wanted to be called back. Within a few mins they called back (fantastic) The person I spoke to Nick beagan taking me through the quotation.

Quote: There where about 25-30 questions in total, However this only taken about 7/9 mins to complete. Most questions did relate to your car insuarance, However there are a few questions that I felt why did I need to answer:

1, Do you smoke? I asked why they need to know, Reply: One insurer on our panel do not insure smokers. I was told this was NIG

2, Are you a homeowner? Why I asked? Reply: Most of the panel of insurers give a discount if your a homeowner.

3, Do you have a credit card? Why I asked? Reply: as above


The panel, who they use: I was told that they search many insurers, Including Norwich union, Axa, RSA, Provident, Zurich, Zenith, Legal and General and More

Price: I was offered a price of £353.58 with an accidental excess of £250.00, I asked for a lower excess and to lower the excess by £100.00 it only taken the quote to £369.15. So well worth asking the consultant to check the excess and see what the best deal is for you.

Conditions: When I was interested in the quote the consultant went through the conditions with me, These included confirming that I was the registered owner and Keeper and the car has not been modified in any way.

24hr breakdown recovery service provide through EA (Europe Assistance) Prices on this product vacry from £30.00 approx to £89.99. There are two different levels of cover offered

Full Breakdown: Cover Homestart, Roadside recovery and including European travel. This package alone is fantastic.

Limited Breakdown: Covers you from atleast 1 mile away from your home, Roadside assistance. This option does not cover you for recovery to your address or destination. They will take you to a local garage.

Keep Motoring:
This is a replacement car in the event that your car is written off due to fire or accident. People may say but you get a courtsey car, Yes you do but only until your car is written on to which without this product you would be left without a car. This is well worth having. provide through Enterprise rentacar.

Payment protection:
Covers all your monthly installments in the event of you being off work due to sickness, injury or being made redundant. there must be a 30 day gap for above except where you are made redundant it is 60 days. Costs £2.99 per month, Provided through Norwich union

Now that I have my car insurance with them I am entitled to discounts of Home Insurance, Motorbike insurance, Travel insurance, Breakdown, Van insurance, Pet Insurance.
