This satistic is apprantly mainly due to the fact car insurance is too exspensive to start with!!!but better still is its on its way up even futher due to the 1 in 20 person.

This combined with the punitive measures when caught £150 fine and takes up to a year to reach court in which time you can still drive(uninsured) seems unreal.

Did anyone see Top Gear this week???I just caught part of it and I was amazed by the facts and even more the reasons and answers the insurance companys have come up with to solve the problem.
With this figure on the ever increase each year insurance is set to rise considerably this year.
The presenter went on to say how all insurance companys combine contributions to a fund specifically for uninsured losses which comes to if memory serves me £238 million this year alone.They then claim back from the general fund when uninsured losses occur.
Who pays for all this???us of course who else.
Whats more this funds figure is having to be raised considerably this year due to the continual rise in this trend not to bother with insurance.
So lets see the people who oblige the law and pay for the privalage of car insurance pay for the poeple who don,t that sounds fair.
So why do the 19 of us bother with insurance?? after all its the same for all concerned yearly increases of premiums which in return you recieve nothing back if you are lucky or if not and you do have a accident months of hardship and worry.
Perhaps the responsiblity to ensure that in the worse circumstances you would be covered???
Just think of the situation were life or injury to yourself or others happens and the implications and effect this would have on you and countless others?? True having insurance would not make a diffrence to life or the injury and suffering but it would make a differance!!!
So the irony continues on with no real solution in sight other than people pay for the ones who don,t.
