I decided to try www.confused.com after seeing the TV advertising. It works really well, and you can use it for most of the sorts of insurance you would want. I have tried it for House and Car so far. One great thing about it is that you don't have to keep on filling in your personal details. You register with the site, ...

I experienced real problems trying to insure an imported car – a Mitsubishi Pajero - from Southern Ireland. As soon as I told an insurer the car was still on an Irish number plate and that I would need a covernote with a chassis number for the DVLA they couldn’t help me. I was recommended to a company called A J Insurance Service (0870) 444 3511 ...

Please dont be put off by the fact that I am a new member I am trying to help you out. I have previously worked for a well known motor insurer and I would like to pass on some information to help you get the full market value for your vehicle if your vehicle is written off, otherwise known as a TOTAL LOSS. Once it is established ...

Motor Insurance is something we give little thought to until either we have an accident, theft or renewal. When you are looking for a quote there are certain things that you should bear in mind that might help to lower the premium yet grant you the same level of cover. Insurance company’s calculate the cost of your premium based on ...

When it comes to buying car insurance, there are a few different strategies. 1. Take the easy way out. Sign the renewal forms for your existing insurer, or if you haven't had a car before, sign up with the first company that you contact. Positives for this approach are that its easy. Unfortunately, the insurance companies know this ...

This week, I have been trying to sort out my car insurance for the next year. It's one of those things that is about as much fun as kick to the privates but it has to be done. I believe my story will help others to save a great deal of money on their car insurance, especially youngsters like myself, by following a few simple principles. ...

I’ve been driving for about 17 years now and have had my own car and been responsible for my own insurance for the past 7 of those years. Despite this, I think I’ve learnt more about car insurance and the possible pitfalls in the past month than in all those 17 years put together. Why have I learnt more? Sadly it’s ...

Two years ago, my son bought a Vauxhall Corsa on hire purchase terms. It had a 1.2 litre engine. For some reason the look of the Corsa or the speed, didn't do anything for him. So he spend most of his money on alloy wheels, music systems, etc etc etc. As I've said he wasn'y content with the speed, so he had a bigger engine put ...

This is going to be a long tale, so please be patient, be prepared to be astonished but, above all, be delighted with the World Wide Web’s never ending capacity to entertain. It revolves, in this case, around my car insurance which always offers a challenging few hours’ work chasing the cheapest quality quote when the annual ...

A sad tale – but make sure it doesn’t happen to you! Driving along a fairly narrow country road on a bank-holiday Friday evening, I saw a A 4x4 with trailer approaching, so I pulled into the side of the road and stopped to give him passing space. Then ….CRASH! …. a small car had failed to stop and rammed me from ...

This satistic is apprantly mainly due to the fact car insurance is too exspensive to start with!!!but better still is its on its way up even futher due to the 1 in 20 person. This combined with the punitive measures when caught £150 fine and takes up to a year to reach court in which time you can still drive(uninsured) seems unreal. ...

I suppose in one way l was lucky in that until l was 25 years old l drove a motorbike which meant that l didn’t get stung for the exorbitant fees that insurance companies charge younger drivers. I am sure that it is often cheaper for new drivers under 21, to buy a new car that comes with two years 'free' insurance, than to buy a ...

I went with Premium Line for my car insurance last year and was happy very happy with the quote being a couple of hundred quid cheaper than the nearest. I went along happily for 11 months- until I had a crash that is. My car was written off as was the other car involved. It happened on the 8th November last year. The police came and they predicted ...

Having just spent a morning getting new car insurance quotes I thought the following might be useful..... Different insurance companies do and don't include your stereo as part of the policy. It's worth checking to see if you are properly insured. When they asked the question 'Have there been any modifications to the ...

Are you amongst the majority of us who have the hassle year after year to ring around insurance companies gathering together a list of quotes, to get the best deal. If you are you no longer need to be. I have found a site that takes the stress out of insurance quotes and does all the hard work for you. WWW.autoseek.co.uk ...

I have just spent many happy hours getting online quotes for motor insurance (groan) and, being unsure of what car I would eventually end up with, I initially got quotes for a number of small cars - which is what I was after. It didn't take long for me to realise just what a HUGE discrepancy there is between one insurance (or brokers) ...

Quoteline direct is definitely a site for you to use if you are looking to cut the prices on your car insurance. Do you want to save a few pounds on motor insurance – or do you want to save a lot of money? If, like me, you have spent hours searching for car insurance online you will know how frustrating it can be. Some of the bigger names seem to have almost identical forms to fill in, and at the end of a long, drawn out session come back ...

My brother, heavily into fashion, has a saying; "It's not how much you pay, it's how much you save", and my little story certainly testifies to that. I had been given a car, due to a family bereavement, and called around different places for a quote. All excessively high. I then decided to try the internet. One site in ...
