Advantages: young person's no claim building. break down cover, online quote, telephone helpline

Disadvantages: So far I haven't claimed any so not sure how the service will be llike

Well so far we are insured with norwich union for our merc. The quote was very reasonable and was cheaper than most other insurers. you don't get the awkward questions from people on the phone and there are not so many questions to answer either. we first applied online but lost the quote number and called in the free phone number which was helpful if you are hold up in the queue.

The person on the phone was very helpful. At first my husband wanted to insure it in his own name as I don't drive (but hold a provisional license). The quote was a bit high. But the advisor on phone said it could be cheaper if my husband adds me as a second driver (I don't have a clue how it works) but it did made our quote cheaper. On top of that we got a year's free breakdown cover which is helpful when you like driving around the country.

The most useful for us is the no claim building facility for young people. I was told people who are under 30 can build up their no claim faster as they will count 9 months as 1 year. So I thought this would help us a lot and we can be on our way of saving more within 9 months.

But I guess the worst part would be if we need to make a claim. There are a lot of dangerous driver's out there and you never know when you might get into trouble. So we are keeping our finger's crossed that if in any unforseen circumstances we need to make a claim we get the best service possible. So cannot comment on that still yet.
