Advantages: no comment
Disadvantages: staffed by morons
Over the last few weeks, I have been inundated with junk mail from Norwich Union, DEMANDING that I insure my car with them. When they didn't get a response, I got not one but two letters, again DEMANDING that I insure my car with them. What car? I don't drive, so where the hell did they get these details from? Ok, put the stuff in the bin, I hear you say and that won't be a problem. However, when one has arthritis, picking the mail up off the floor is a problem, never mind opening the letters (where were deliberately made not to look like junk mail but actual documents, which is sneeky). I decided I to telephone Norwich Union to put a stop to it. I spoke to some clot who took my name and got my details - as soon as I stated that I wanted no more junk mail from them, this clot (I'd prefer something stronger) changed his tone and said he had "no details in front of (him)". Liar. My life insurance and buildings/contents are with Norwich Union so if they persist, I'll take my buisness elsewhere. I don't like discurteous service of any form - there are plenty of other companies that will welcome my buisness.

- 03/03/02 I have a previous connection with Norwich Union Direct, and unfortunately positronic, what the call centre staff told you may was true. There would have been no details on screen for you had you not called before. Ever heard of mailing lists? Anyway, if you had actuall read the mailing you would have seen that there is actually an easy way to stop these mailings by returning them to the freepost address given. Perhaps you have poor eyesight along with your arthritis! |

- 17/05/01 I don't think this is really a very useful opinion about norwich union, as to whether they are any good as insurers. |

- 07/02/01 Unfortunately it's called cross-selling. A real pain! |
