Car insurance is always thought of a pricey subject, especially when young people are concerned.

I received my full UK driving licence last May and I assumed that I was going to become moneyless, now that I had to pay for car insurance.

Then a member of my family suggested to insure with another member of my family, e.g parent, guardian etc.

My insurance alone was over a thousand pounds but if I was to insure with my father, as the main driver, it was reduced to under £500. This halved my motor insurance bill.

Shopping for insurance is vital and this is what I intended to do. By far the cheapest were Norwich Union. I was saving around £150 compared to all the other companies.

I conclude to get a quote from these people because they can make you a huge saving!

Another problem with having your Dad as the main driver is that it is a common scam that insurance companies are aware of. If you make a claim and they suspect you drive the car more often then your Dad they can refuse to pay out.

The only problem insuring your fatehr as th emain driver is that you do not build up no claims bonus and thus your insurance will always remain expensive
