When swiftcover came out several years ago, i was mightly impressed by there prices. My car insurance was a whole £100 cheaper than what all the other insurers were quoting.

I signed up, and this did this via there very easy to nagivate website. Within a few minutes, everything was set up, i had a swiftcover password and i could access my space, this contained details of my cover, and how to print my documents out. I could print out my insurance from my own home, it was very easy i have to say.

It was all very good, you could even change your details, say if you wanted to add a partner to your policy or if you changed cars. When i had an accident, all the info was submitted via your swiftspace page, and you could login, to see the status of your claim.

Then 2 problems arose which saw me leave swiftcover, firstly if you have say 8 years no claims when you join swift cover, the next time you get your renewal quote it will say 6 years. This is because they only recognise up to 6 years as being the maximum, so if you want to change insurers, you have to contact swift cover to send them a letter to say your actual number of no claims, its all abit of a hassle and rather annoying.

The second problem is after being with a few years i was quoted a whole £200 more than what i can get somewhere else, when i contacted them about this, they didnt reduce the quote and left it as it was.

I think its good for newcomers but has flaws, and doesnt always reward existing customers.

Summary: definetely good for new customers, but have got better quotes elsewhere for existing customer
