Advantages: Quick and Easy to Apply For, Dealt with my Claim Quickly, Cheap
Disadvantages: Poor Windowscreen Replacement Policy Terms
I was insured with Swift Cover for 2 years and my wife still is. Being 23 the most important thing for me when looking at insurance is the price and Swift Cover always came out cheapest, I read some reviews and not all were good but decided to give them a try as no other even came close on price.
Applying for the insurance online was easy and adjusting the details of the quote such as the excess was quick and the price adjusted quickly. Once I had completed my payment, my policy documents, certificate of motor insurance, terms and conditions, everything you need are instantly available online in your "My Swift Cover Space". You don't have to wait for them to be delivered in the post and can tax your car within a minute of paying for your insurance online (with all the other necessary documents).
As this was my first policy in my own name Swift Cover made it easy for me to build up my own no claims discount at a great price, something normally people my age - with 0 no claims discount have to pay a high premium for.
Following my recommendation my partner also decided to use swiftcover. Unfortunately in the first year of her policy she has a cracked windowscreen, we looked in the policy document to find they are covered for a set fee. Unfortunately after to speaking to Swiftcover we dound out that although you don't lose your no claims if you claim for a windowscreen you forfeit your no claims bonus for that year, so after year one of insurance she would still have 0 no claims. So if you had 3 years no claims dicount and claimed with swiftcover in year 4, at the end of year 4 you would still only have 3 years no claims discount. This was very dissapointing and we decided to have the window replaced locally for £90, only £20 more than the windowscreen excess with Swiftcover, there was no point forfeiting 1 years no claims discount for £20.
Unfortunately in July this year I had a bad accident in my car in the rain, I lost control of the vehicle on a bend and rolled the car, it was obviously a write off! I was lucky to escape unharmed. When it come to claiming through Swift they were terrific (this was a great boost for me, the last thing I needed was more stress, especially with the shock I was in) I called them on the morning of the accident and they gave me a claim number. They arranged to have the vechicle collected from the polices recovery agents and taken to one of their approved garages. The day after the crash I had an email to say the car had been assessed and it was beyond repair and they offered me a good price for my car. I had to fill in a form and email it back and within 7 days thye paid the money straight into my bank account minus the excess. This really did relieve my stress. I had a letter a month later to say the claim had been closed and all parties had been paid (recovery vechicles etc)
I think I received such a good service because I was the only vechicle involved in the crash, nobody was hurt and the car was a write off.
Despite the poor windowscreen replacement terms, I have been pleased with Swiftcover. Having purchased another car and being back to 0 on my no claims I have had to change insurers as they could not compete with the price of elephant.co.uk. However if next year Swiftcover offer me a good quote I wouldn't hesitate to go back!
Summary: I was pleased with the way they dealt with my claim and their prices
