Advantages: Cheap quotes, online system good.
Disadvantages: Terrible customer service and communication.
Let me tell you a little story about a shy retiring 22 year old and his dealings with this 'insurance company'.
We begin where all young men want to be, passing their driving test. All was great for the next three years until one day the hero of our story was driving down the road minding his own business when some ****** decides to pull accross him attempting to turn. There was a slight mishap in which our hero was rather badly hurt, not as badly as his beloved car though! The police attended and decided to arrest the villain (who shall remain nameless throughout) as our hero was taken to hospital.
Some time passed and the police came calling for a statement, the villain of out story was a nasty lady who had been driving without a licence, insurance, tax or an MOT and who was eventually convicted of driving without due care and attention.
Now you may think this story is going to have a happy ending but unfortunately you'd be very wrong! Our hero had to claim of his insurance which charged him £850 excess, undervalued his car (which was written off) by £1500 and took all his no claims bonus off him which he was only two weeks from having protected.
Three years on, claims with the Motorists Insurance Bureau and trips to the High Court and our hero is still no further forward, out of pocket and admirably fighting for his no claims discount back.
The car insurance company in question? You guessed it, Swiftcover!
Summary: It's cheap for a reason!

- 16/09/09 I often wonder why the uninsured motorist isn't made to pay damages themselves - bit by bit if necessary. Their car should be sold and any monies go towards compensation..
I hope our hero gets some hard fpought for compensation eventually.
I certainly won't entertain insurances from Swiftcover, the only swift thing about them is the speed at which they take yer money. |

- 16/09/09 I got caught out when they sent me a renewal reminder on the day it expired therefore by default I had accepted another year with them, but guess what? The price had shot up. It took a lot of effort to get rid of them but worth it. Avoid at all costs!!! |
