Tesco Car Insurance

Before I started insuring my car with Tesco, I used to find myself switching annually between Direct line and Norwich union direct, they were always the 2 companies that offered me the best deals. Here's what I want from my car insurance. Fully comprehensive Legal Aid Protective no claims car replacement and £150 max excess. and I pay by monthly installments. I've been with Tesco since I started driving 5 years ago. For me, and I know that this won't be the case for everyone, they are the cheapest insurer for me and my car. I have changed cars twice over this period, and found the customer care team very helpful in outlining what I was covered for, and answering the questions I had. In true student style, I lost my documents when it came up to MOT time, and Tesco has sent them out to me, at addresses other than where the vehicle is registered to for no charge. I have had tesco car insurance for two years and have recently switched companies. The premum is very good and they draw you in with special offers and promises of cheap premiums. However I find that this is all well and good until you put them to the test. Insurance is a promise to pay your claim and I feel tesco failed in this promise. I had cover with them and someone reversed into me - ony causing a small dent but I didn't want to drive around with a scratched dented car. I have been insured with Tesco for nearly five years now. I changed from Lloyds/TBS because it was a lot cheaper and offering the same cover. Unfortunately I had an accident in my car, and it was my fault. But there was no hesitation from Tesco, they arranged for their assessors to collect the car the following day and also a courtesy car after that. The assessors immediately wrote the car off, although I felt it was repairable. It was a 1998 Ford Focus estate and needed a new bonnet, bumper, near side wing and lights. Before price comparison sites came out for car insurance I had to do my own shopping around. I remember it used to take ages, but each year I was always better off with Tescos insurance, and not by a little bit, it was by a lot. This year, when Tesco sent me my renewal notice I decided to check out a price comparison website, for the first time to see if my renewal deal was as good as I thought. It was!
