Advantages: Online, Telephone and Staff
Disadvantages: See Review
I telephoned Tesco insurance this year for a quotation. I took the time to ask all about their policy that they were offering me. I decided to write this review about their policy.
Tesco Insurance is available online and you can call there offices, I struggled to find a free phone number for them.
This review is all about Tesco motor insurance policy only, I have not covered there staff.
There policy benefits are as follows for a fully comp policy:
Legal cover was included in the price I was give it gave me up to £50k worth of legal cover. This is useful in the event of an accident. It covers you for any losses. I.e. wages, excess etc
Courtesy Car They only give you a courtesy car if you pay for it at the time to setting up your policy. £12.60 for a max of 14days
Glass Cover There standard excess is £50.00 however this does not cover your sunroof. You would be liable for a higher excess if you use an non authorised repairer.
Personal Accident Cover: £5000 max per person as standard with their policy.
Lock Replacement: This is not available with their policy
Medical Expenses: £100 per person as standard
Stereo Cover: Up to £1000
Personal Effects: £100 this covers your personal belongings in the event of theft from your car. I.e. mobile, jacket etc
Charges that may apply:
Cancellation of policy: Pro-Rata and up to £55.00
Making Changes: No Charge
APR For Instalments: 18.9%
Overall I would say that Tesco lack in the benefits section of the industry; however they do offer excellent customer service.
I will certainly call them again next year to check out the benefits
Hope you find this useful.
Summary: What you get when you insure

- 09/10/05 Sorry for the low rating, but not sure how you can review Tesco Insurance if your not actually with them. I understand you have quoted their benefits but I'd want to know if these offered benefits are actually real, and what happens if you ever need to make a claim for this to be more useful to me. Thanks |
