Advantages: cheap

Disadvantages: deceitful, cheap, poor communication

misleading information provided. If you pay extra for a Courtesy car be aware it is for 14 days maximum regardless of how long it takes to fix your vehicle (usually more than 2 weeks for an insurance claim). Excess amounts are incredibly high & this is not made clear! Legal advice i paid for has still not been provided, is now 3 months after the date of the accident and i have requested this advice 3 times from them, their solicitor still hasn't called me, although this has been promised. I have had only one letter of communication from tescos so far, acknowledging that the claim has been noted. They have provided no information whatsoever unless i have called and prised the information from them. This is the first time i have been in any form of accident, it is a scary experience and i am unaware of what i should be doing. Tesco have provided no help whatsoever and i feel as though i am banging my head against a wall. I thought i would never need to claim as i am a careful driver, however i could not avoid a stolen car which came at full speed from a give way road into the side of my vehicle. I have no idea of what is happening, tescos are very unhelpful and i feel like crying every day this is still going through. I assumed that with fully comprehensive cover and all the added extra's that i would be taken care of. This has not been the case at all, if anything i have been ignored and treated like an irritating problem because i'm in a situation where i actually need them to provide the service i paid for, which they apparently, really do not want to do.

Summary: please beware!

SU Great use of opinion but try reding other Tesco Car Insurance reviews. They not only give opinion but info aswell. Like Quote comparrions, how to get a quote and purchase the insurance. How easy/ difficult it is to get a quote, what questions they ask, how safely they store your info, guarentees, benefits, what the policy covers etc.
Also paragraphs and subheadings make reading it easier. If its a huge block of text I dont like to read it because it just looks like too much hard work!
If you edit this let everybody who rated it know via comments on their reviews. Most if not all members will be happy to re-rate.

Understand a bit how yioyu feel we had house broken into car nicked over a month ago house insureres direct line great
car insurers NIG useless free rental cat for 1 week girl who was dealing with our claim goes on holiday nothing from anyone ese while she away, car has now turned up not returned yet as ;police have not fingeer printed it howeever we have bought a car in the meantime need to get our car back so we can flog it get some money

This may have been a one off situation and the overview is not enough for someone to make an informed decision. You don't tell us what the rates were like compared with other companies and what pursuaded you to part with your money, what they offer in the way of cover compared with others, and how they fail in their promises which would make an all round useful review.
