Advantages: were cheap, but definitely not worth saving a few ounds

Disadvantages: many

Really, don't bother with Tesco Car insurance. They simply don't deserve any coverage anymore. Their customer service staff don't know what they're talking about, they're quite rude and will take advantage of you if you make a claim. I paid my insurance by monthly instalments, after my car was set on fire I made a claim, they valued my car significantly less than I had expected, and I had to dispute it. After the dispute they rewarded me [BUT!] they take the remaining amount of installments off the value of your car, so of course, I was paid a measley amount. I was actually going to cancel my insurance 1 month after my claim, but now, I've got to stay with Tesco until the end of the policy, cheers! Great! Also, they wouldn't insure me on most cars I found, their terms are: you have to have a minimum of 2 years no claims to be insured on many vehicles. How on earth can I do that?? Just let my car get set on fire, and not make a claim??!! What the point of insuring your car???!! There's certainly no point with Tesco, don't bother with them.

Summary: Tesco - pants!

Can not agree more with you, "AVOID TESCO CAR INSURANCE", I Had an accident that wasnt my fault, proved in court, and tesco's were nothing but rude and usless with dealing with it, a complete waste of money!

Did you find out why the car caught fire? What make and model was it? How old was it? I wonder if Tescos were suspicious about why it went up in flames?

The bit about the premiums is perfectly correct. If you make a claim then you have benefitted from the insurance and so are obliged to pay all of the premium.

I assume that you are quite young? If so, try Endsleigh. They always managed to find good insurers for my kids when they first started driving.

this is more of a rant than a review on the actual product try putting a bit more info to make the review more effective as it will hit a wider audience more than a rant will.
