Tesco Car Insurance - how do they get away with it (Tesco Car Insurance)
Member Name: Dave
Advantages: Cheap at first Disadvantages: Bad Customer Service, Still taking money off me months after i cancelled the policy Well, where can I start, i took out a policy for my 1992 Peugeot 405 and got it for a good price, but i've now no longer got the car as it broke down and would have cost too much to fix so I have bought a new car on finance with 1st year free insurance. i've tried and tried to cancel my tesco policy and 2 months later I am still having payments withdrawn from my account. I have not made a claim against my policy which should therefore allow me to cancel at any time so what gives tesco the right to 'steal' money from my bank account for a service that I cannot use as the car is now sat SORN in a garage (probably will scrap it one day). I have written in several times to their customer service departments and spoken to several representatives and been reassured that the policy has been cancelled, but its still to no avail. I would be interested to know if anyone else out there has had similar problems, and where I should go next? presumably some sort of legal action. Summary: Avoid like the plague |
