      Advantages

      Disadvantages

Been with tradex for 3 years now and woudlnt really recomend them except for the fact they were cheaper than any one else, impossible to get hold of any one when you need to, the text service for adding or removing vehicles from the policy is happy to charge you for the text but doesnt seem to ever work (found out the hard way when i got pulled over by the police saying my vehicle wasnt inusred), renewal time came i got the letter saying did i want to renew after the policy had expired and then was on hold for 20 minutes until they closed where i just got disconnected and then had to wait till monday to find out they hadnt renewed my policy just seems a right farce most of the time. but as said their prices were the best at the time.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Good

I had been with tradex for five years then switched to a firm I found online.... That was a big mistake! All I can say is, check the difference in amendment fees and all of the small print that to be honest I didn't bother to read those online brokers rinse you for fees for all the stuff tradex does for free, like updating the mid thingy. if only I had, I might gave saved myself about £200 in fees!!! Thankfully I went back to tradex direct and it's their romford office u want to call... They deal direct, rather than go through a broker as I was before, and they will give u answers there and then. As for claims, I had one claim and they were pretty good to be fair and the bird I spoke to was quite switched on so I can't complain.

Hopefully I might even get a discount off my premium for writing this! Lol...

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      Wouldnt use them again

Would not recommend this company, took out insurance back in October 2009 its now January 2010. Had a cover note sent out until the main documents arrived whoever these did not arrive and the cover note expired contacted them a number of times and just got another cover note when the policy did arrive the details i.e surname were spelt incorrectly on the certificate but were correct on the envelope with my address etc (was this done on purpose to void if I did need to claim?) Also when I took out the cover I was told I would receive free public liability insurance this was the main reason I chose Tradex as it saved me around £400 however after reading the policy it had no mention of this so I called them up to correct there mistakes and ask about my free public liability insurance was told I would be sent out new documents etc these still have not arrived and in the mean time I had the unfortunate event of someone driving into my van whilst it was parked outside my home so I called them up to report it this was not very easy phone lines were busy all day and when I finally got to number 1 in the queue after been on hold for hours! They closed the phone line and just played an automated message 5 mins before they were meant to be closed! It took me 3 days in total of constantly ringing when I had the time as I am self employed to get through to them, when I did finally talk to someone I had 3 options explained to me.
1 claim on my insurance and lose all my no claims and pay a large execs
2 chase the other party's insurance company myself! (why am I paying for insurance???)
3 use the free legal cover and the solicitors will deal with everything and I won't have to pay any excess

I went for option 3 as it sounded the best route as the van is driveable etc however when the solicitors wrote to me it didn't have a word about what I was told it was all to do with injury etc

So that's my experience with Tradex not great and not what I would have expected.
