Advantages: light, stylish, ventilation, high quality

Disadvantages: expensive and noisy (just like me!)

One of the most expensive helmets you can buy (about £450 last time I looked) short of customs and specials. It has lots of vents for those scorching hot summer days we have to endure here in sunny Scotland. Ventilation is just not a problem with this thing. It's very, very light and strong (Super Complex Laminate Construction shell - whatever that is). The visor has integrated mounting tabs for tear-offs, but if you replace it with black/iridium, then you don't get these - even on the official Arai ones. The visor snaps in and out of the helmet really easily, making replacement and cleaning a doddle.

Most of the interior is removable and washable - as you would expect. It has a removable nose deflector and a dinky little drop-down chin aero-flap, which serves no noticeable function as far as I can tell. It's very comfortable for those of us with Arai shaped heads. And if you really want a tasteless paint job you can either have a custom job done on it (the shell's paintable) or choose from one of the muted replicas (yuck! I prefer my sexy black lid).

On the down side, this isn't the quietest lid I've ever worn. Wind noise can be a problem, so ear plugs are a must if you intend wearing one at over 30 mph.
