There are many forms of motorcycle security including Chains, Locks, Alarms etc but if a thief cannot move your bike from where you have parked it, due to the fact that it's anchored down, he may decide it's too much hassle and move on.

I've seen loads of bikes chained up with the latest, heaviest most secure locks and chains money can buy but not attached to anything other than the bikes front wheel. Now that may stop someone from attempting to ride the bike away, but does nothing to prevent it from being lifted into the back of a van. This is where a ground anchor comes in. A ground anchor is a device that's either bolted or cemented into the ground that allows you to chain your bike to it. If someone wants to take the bike they will have to either defeat the lock, chain or the anchor itself.

I had always been after a ground anchor to chain my bike to but I had always been put off by the hassle of fitting it correctly and then along came A.A.J Security and the Defiant Ground Anchor.

The major advantage the Defiant has over all the other products on the market it that it is fitted FREE by A.A.J's own engineers ANYWHERE on the U.K mainland. A.A.J are also so confident in their product that they guarantee should your bike be stolen as a result of a successful attack on their anchor they will install a replacement ground Anchor (free of charge) and re-inburse any insurance excess of up to £300!

How refreshing a company that will put it's money where it's mouth is! Most company swear that their products are the best on the market, but then when the product fails don't want to hear from you.

During installation the Defiant is bolted down into place and then the bridge section is welded down, covering access to the bolts. To prevent attack from angle grinders etc. the bridge and support sections contain steel rollers that rotate freely inside so that during attack the rollers rotate prevent
ing the blade from gripping the metal. After installation the Defiant is then spray painted to protect it from the elements and also makes it very neat and tidy.

To be fair in our tests we attacked the Defiant with a bike chained to it (After all this is the sort thing a thief would do) and found it very difficult to break without using noisy powerful tools that would cause too much noise. The tools that we used were far more realistic than the sort of stuff used by Sold Secure (No plastic knives here) and we did eventually manage to break the anchor but not without lots of hassle, noise & time, major things that thief's dislike.

So to answer our main objective: Does it do what is required at the right price? the answer is a resounding yes.
