Advantages: comfortable, ventilated, light weight

Disadvantages: None

My daughter decided that she wants to get a motorbike when she turns sixteen, I of course objeted and we have compromised that she will have a scooter instead, and she now has her eyes on the peugeot speedfight 2. After getting her CBT test booked, her trousers, gloves and jacket she saved up and started to look for a helmet.

Initially, she looked on the HJC website, but some of their's start at around £50 and go up to around £250. She looked on different bike shops but found she was going to end up paying about £60-£70 which she thought was a bit too much for her first helmet. She then looked on ebay at the new ones on there.
*you should never buy a secondhand helmet even if it looks new because it could be damaged from a drop and you may not know. *

She found a shop called ghostbikes_UK on ebay that sold helmets of different brands including the HJC that had been recommended to her. She got it buy it now for £27.99 and £6.99 postage and was thrilled with it. On other websites, the helmet is £69.99 and £79.99 so she has saved an absoloute fortune.

The helmet is the same as the one pictured on dooyoo. She has had an extra small because she has a fairly small head. The gap to get her head in is really small but it's all padded around the neck so it is very comfortable and won't come off if you have an accident whilst wearing it. The helmet has the HJC logo on the front and the side with Lotus, the model name on the back. In the grey bits between the blue on the design, it is really glittery. It didn't mention this on ebay and when it came, my daughter was thrilled because the glitter sparkles and looks lovely, but I wouldn't really recommend it for a man because it does look a bit girls with all the sparkle.

The helmet isn't very heavy and won't hurt your neck after wearing it for half hour unlike some. It has 6 point ventilation so you can breathe easily whilst wearing it and there is one air vent above the visor and one below that you can click open if you get hot. The visor slides open and closed easily so you can open it if you get hot and close it easily whilst on the bike. There is a strap that goes underneath the chin, but my daughter hasn't learnt how to use it yet. The visor is anti fog so it doesn't steam up and impaire your vision whilst riding and my daughter said the helmet overall is really comfortable and she can hear me quite well when wearing it. The only thing she moaned about was wrecking her hair when she took it off but this isn't a problem with the helmet, just my daughters appearence obsession! lol

Overall, this is definitely worth the money! Please, look on ebay before spending £60 or more because you can save loads. I'd definitely recommend this helmet to anyone else, and I will feel confident when my daughter is wearing it on the road. Thanks HJC.

Summary: A great helmet available at awesome prices

The anti-fog visor sounds useful - mine is always misting up! Your daughter absolutely must wear the chin strap though, for her own safety.

Good review.
