... have owned the Oxford sports humpback panniers for a few years now. I have used the panniers on two diffrent motorcycles now (a 600cc sports bike and a 1000cc sports tourer) and found them to work well with both bikes even though they are completely different shapes. Givi TOPCASE/PANNIER - E360 ... fact I hated top boxes. I always thought that no matter how good they look, you end up looking like a courier. Then I found myself doing a bit of touring, and one of these happened to be going cheap on ebay so I ended up giving in. The Givi is really well made, nearly as well made as some of the BMW stuff I ve seen which is definitely saying something. It s made from tough plastic, which is more likely to scuff and dent as opposed to break if you drop it. It has a red reflective strip built in which is not only a safety feature, it also breaks up the monotonous black case and makes it look quite nice. Oxford SPORTS DELUX TAILPACK ... bought an entire set of Oxford soft luggage as there was a special offer, if I bought the panniers and the tank bag, I d get this for free. Now, the panniers and tank bag are excellent, and in theory the tailpack is just as good. It s got a removeable bum bag, ample space, loads of handy little compartments, and above all, it can sort of be used as a ruck sack. I say sort of, you d be better off using it as a sort of shoulder bag, it s a bit fiddly as a rucksack. If you find yourself buying some bits on holiday, you can expand it upwards, which is actually really handy. Oxford Expander Sports Tankbag ... ve used one of these bags now for seven years (in its various states of evolution), and am now on my fourth bag (all under warranty). On each bag, it has been the zips that fail - usually with the fabric that hold the teeth to the bag wearing through. Ignoring this weakness - which is probably common to all bags in daily use (Oxford don t make the zips after all), then I d say the design is OK . The magnets are great - in 77,000 miles of use I ve never had the bag slip, and I stopped using the headstock strap after the first week! The underside of the bag is also nicely rubberised, and won t scratch the tank unless you trap grit in there. Obviously you want to keep...
