OGK FF3 - new kid on your block (OGK FF3)
Member Name: esspee
Advantages: Best graphics & colours other than race-reps, cool rear vent system, tear off visors Disadvantages: Slight wind noise
I have recently purchased an OGK FF3 helmet and this certainly is a major player in the top end of the helmet market. Previously i had used an Arai NR3 (Ryo replica) and never thought that an Arai could be beaten. I spent several months shopping around and looking at the best lids available before making my choice. I'm sure everyone else has the same troubles but so many lids just do not seem to fit, or they fit but apply too much pressure to parts of head, or they feel too claustrophobic or.... and so on, until finally i came across the OGK. I'd heard of them before from reviews in the press and from seeing many British Motorcycle racers using them throughout the season - and there is no better breeding ground than the racetrack!!! The FF3 is stylish with it's eye-catching graphics and F1 style aero vents at the back, but most importantly is was a perfect fit and very comfotable. In fact i would say the fit is better than an Arai albeit the lining is not quite as soft. The internal lining is very generous and pads out well around the cheeks to give a very safe and close fitting, the chin strap is the usual D-ring and fits tight under the chin without causing too much discomfort. On the outside it's the kind of lid to turn heads and make other riders green with envy. The helmet even came with 3 tinted tear-off strips (handy bearing in mind current dark visor laws). the ventilation is superb with no steaming up problems - even though the helmet has been well and truly tested in November rain!! there is a little bit of wind noise but nothing more than my Arai so all in all this is a superb quality helmet for a lot less money than many others. Well worth £250. Summary: |
