Oxford Humback Panniers. (Oxford SPORTS PANNIERS)
Member Name: featus
Advantages: Expandable, life time guarantee, sturdy construction Disadvantages: Not big enough for two? Awkward for pillions? I have owned the Oxford sports humpback panniers for a few years now. I have used the panniers on two diffrent motorcycles now (a 600cc sports bike and a 1000cc sports tourer) and found them to work well with both bikes even though they are completely different shapes. The bags are easy to fit (though can be a challenge when they are full) with one velcro strap going under the pillion seat and two going over. The packs come with a range of straps and bungees. Each bag has numerous points to which you can attach the straps and bungees to, all that is left is finding bungee points on the bike (the footrest and indicators work well if not). The panniers are shaped to allow for upswept exhausts, leaving plenty of room. I have found you can easily stash a weekends gear into the expandable bags, though if you have a pillion you will need backpacks or a tankbag for more clothes. The bags are sturdy in their construction, with oversized zips and easy to grap zip ends. They come with shower covers, simple elastic edged covers. These do flap around in the wind. You need to be patient when fitting the panniers if you are carrying a pillion. The bags can begin to obstruct their footrests. Summary: Great quality, makes weekends away possible |
